“My work is a combination of passion and expression. Having grown up in an environment where I could take nature for granted, the move to San Francisco was a shock. Nature here, it seemed, had become a bastardization of itself in order to adapt to condensed humanity, and, as a loner myself, I sympathized.

“After living in the city for some time, the same thing eventually happened to me, and I found myself changing to survive. Through my experience, my artwork went from being a delicate rendering, to an organic weave of order and chaos. Somehow, the expression of line reflects nature more accurately, and I understand, now, that evolution is our nature.” -Megan Wolfe

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Megan Wolfe is an artist and freelance photographer residing in Oakland, California. A “reformed realist”, Megan Wolfe created a series of realism works that focused on urban scenery before transitioning into expressive, and reductive, works of the same subject matter.

Currently, she is classified as an abstract artist. Megan Wolfe is best recognized for her drawings of pigeons, but she continues to work on her abstract series of knives and figures joking that, someday, her subjects “may meet each other”.
