Studio Notes - Recovery Process

Studio Notes – Recovery Process

I’m still battling with ongoing illness, thanks to a lowered immunity system (caused by something else). It’s been over two months now since this started, and I just haven’t quite pulled out of it yet. Sometimes it’s better, sometimes not so much. But when things are good I’m excited to be working again. I rearranged the studio space and made room to do larger pieces, and I’ve started to work on some of those pieces recently.

I’m continuing with the same loose, abstracted strokes the Life in Winter drawings inspired (which I’ll get back to.. as soon as I can go out enough to collect more reference). And I’m having fun experimenting with it. I’m letting myself try different things and follow different styles, which will, eventually, come together. At this point my focus is on enjoying the work and enjoying the drawing process. It’s been a long time since I’ve had the luxury of doing that, and right now I just want to keep it going, and see what happens.
